GSM OPERATORS ASSOCIATION OF NIGERIA
The GSM Operators Association of Nigeria (GSM-OA), formerly the GSM Consultative Forum of Nigeria (GSM-CF), is pleased to announce that the Nigerian International GSM Conference and Exhibition shall take place at the International Conference Centre in Abuja, Federal Capital Territory from 27 - 29 March 2007.
This is the second in the series of GSM-OA hosted events. The first was the highly successful GSM Africa conference, which took place at the same venue in March 2006, which attracted over five hundred delegates from more than 25 countries, both within and outside the African continent.
The past year will be remembered as one of tremendous development in the Nigerian GSM sector, coupled with the introduction of the Unified Licensing Regime. All these have led to new players entering the frame and the industry re-configuring itself to sustain its un-abated progress towards the next 22 million subscribers and its seemingly inevitable position as Africa’s biggest GSM market in 2007. This objective, however, cannot be taken for granted, and therefore requires a vast amount of innovativeness. This shall afford relevant stakeholders to overcome the peculiar operating challenges, including affordability, choosing the right technologies and a consistent regulatory environment amongst others. The challenges are great, but the socio-economic as well as commercial rewards are greater.
With all of this in perspective, the GSM-OA has developed the Nigerian International GSM Conference and Exhibition with the singular aim of providing a showcase and a forum for the key government agencies, regulators, commercial organisations and individuals to exchange ideas on how to sustain and further drive the current growth in the industry.
We greatly welcome the participation of all stakeholders and look forward to meeting you in Abuja for the 2nd Nigerian International GSM Conference and Exhibition from 27 - 29 March 2007. |
