Inmarsat
Inmarsat has stood at the forefront of mobile satellite services for nearly 30 years. We are internationally recognised as pioneers in our field and we continue to introduce new technologies that redefine the standard for our industry.
Our new Broadband Global Area Network (BGAN) service, for example, is now enabling TV broadcasters to beam breaking news 'live via videophone' into millions of homes.
And in future, when you make a mobile phone call or send a text message from an aircraft, most likely it will be transmitted via Inmarsat satellites to the ground.
Safety first
For the maritime community, however, our communication and safety services are nothing new. Their lives and livelihoods have depended upon Inmarsat for more than a quarter of a century.
We were founded in 1979 to ensure that ships could stay in constant touch by telephone. In 1999, we became the first intergovernmental organisation to transform into a private company and, in 2005, were floated on the London Stock Exchange.
Intelsat
Bringing the world closer, by far.
Our business is enabling media, telecom and government service providers delivering information and entertainment worldwide using a combination of satellite and terrestrial connectivity technology. Our satellites are miracles of science and innovation. From their spot 36,000 km above the earth, they erase natural, technological and time barriers connecting people to people, to the web, to news, to TV programming and to critical information – bringing the world closer, by far.
Unrivaled resources to advance our customers’ business goals
Counting on the world’s largest satellite fleet, seamlessly integrated with an extensive network of terrestrial connectivity infrastructure of teleports, fiber and points of presence, our customers can advance their business goals with speed and convenience. More than technology
Ultimately, we know our success depends on much more than technology. Thanks to our 40+ years of experience and the acumen of our people, we translate our services into business advantage, enabling our customers to grow with confidence.
